Chetwood Financial supports Wrexham’s first business ‘Lock-in’ event

The 24 hour free event, a collaboration between Town Square and Big Ideas Wales, was held for local 16-24 year olds.
During the event, teams of four had to sketch out a concept, write up a business plan, and then present it to the panel of judges. The local students were also given expert advice throughout the event on a range of topics from social media strategy to pitching.
The teams were all competing for an iPad each - the top prize Chetwood Financial donated towards the event.
The winning team was ‘Pop-In’ who looked at innovative ways of using technology and social media to bring people together in Wrexham High Street.
Chetwood Financial CEO Andy Mielczarek said: “As a local business, we’re really passionate about supporting young people to develop their skills and learn more about the world of business.
“The quality of [the students’] work shows the wealth of ideas and skills in Wrexham and hints at a bright future for technological innovation in the area. We’re sure this generation of talent will only continue to grow from strength to strength.”
